Battle in the Mirror

_

Truth Before Triumph.

Before a man can lead others, he must first tell the truth about himself.

The greatest deception is not the one the world tells, it’s the one we rehearse in private.

What we excuse in the mirror will eventually expose us in the light.

Carry this truth with humility: You don’t conquer the enemy by pretending you’re whole, you conquer him by crucifying what isn’t.

The hardest fight I’ve ever fought wasn’t against the world—it was against the reflection staring back at me. That man knew my fears, my compromises, my justifications. He wore a smile in public and carried shame in silence. For years, I treated sin like a sparring partner instead of an enemy to be slain. The mirror became my battlefield. Every morning, I had to decide whether to let the man of flesh rule the day or crucify him before he could rise. And there were days I lost that fight—days I let pride, lust, or self-pity drag me back into the same darkness I swore I’d left behind. But even in defeat, God was faithful to meet me there. When you start being honest with yourself, transformation begins. When you confess the truth, freedom follows. But if you can’t face the man in the mirror, you’ll never withstand the enemy in the field.

Reflection Call: Look in the mirror today—not just at your face, but at your choices. What’s still clinging to you that needs to die in the fire? Confess it, pray over it, and let your brothers hold you accountable. You can’t fight a war you refuse to see.
